Advanced Elements of Sea Eagle Kayak Sails

A kayak sail is nothing more than a specially designed sail which was specifically designed for use on a kayak paddle. It enables you to directly harness the force of the wind to propel yourself forward, and it enables you to sail at a very high velocity indeed so that your hands get a nice break while you're out on the open water. Sounds great, doesn't it? Unfortunately, there is one major problem with a kayak sail. Sails have been known to flip over in the ocean, because of too much rolling in to one direction. For this reason, many people have looked for a kayak sail which is strong enough to resist the turning effects, but still lightweight enough that it can easily go in to the current when you need to. Traditionally, these types of sails were constructed using nylon straps tied to pegs on top of the keel, but this was not very strong at all, and could easily snap under the right conditions. As a result, the design was changed, and instead of using a rigid nylon strap, designers began using what is called a mono strap, which is a single piece of strong aluminum fabric which is tied to the keel itself.

This new design provides a much stronger support system, and allows the designer to design the sail in almost any configuration desired. While using a kayak sail, it is important to have the proper equipment on board. Most importantly, you need a paddle with a straight shaft and a flexible handle, so that you are not constantly grabbing and pulling at the end of the rope. Paddles can be specially designed for both paddle boarding and float tubing, but in general they are wider than conventional paddles.
